Updates on Travel Related Restrictions to Greece and Italy
As countries are slowly opening up, restrictions on entry and exit quarantine rules and other measures are taken in an attempt to slow the spread of COVID-19.
Government responses, entry regulations, and quarantine rules may change at any time during this dynamic situation so please return to this page for more information.

On a positive note - these new rules that were announced by the Greek government will allow Americans to travel to Greece as early as June 15, here's how...

Greece - Entry Restrictions
June 15 – June 30:  U.S. citizens are permitted to enter Greece subject to COVID-19 testing and quarantine restrictions depending on where your travel originated.
*See Quarantine Information below.*

July 1:  The Greek government is expected in the coming weeks to announce additional restrictions regarding certain countries effective July 1.  We will update this page when the information is available.  We cannot answer questions regarding travel on or after July 1 at this time.

Quarantine Information:

Today through June 14:  All international passengers must take a COVID-19 test upon arrival and are required to stay overnight at a designated hotel provided by the Greek authorities.  You are escorted off the plane and asked to fill out a tracing form.  You are then taken into a booth in the arrivals lounge for a throat swab.  After collecting your luggage, you board a bus that takes you to the designated hotel where you must remain until results come through the next day. If the test is negative, you are released for a seven-day self-quarantine.  If the test is positive, you are quarantined under supervision for 14 days.  For any other arrival questions, consult directly with the airport.

June 15 – June 30: If your travel originates from an airport on the European Union Aviation Security Agency (EASA) affected area list, you will be tested on arrival.  An overnight stay at a designated hotel provided by the Greek authorities is required.  If the test is negative, you are released for a seven-day self-quarantine.  If the test is positive, you are quarantined under supervision for 14 days.  For any other arrival questions, consult directly with the airport

Origination is the first flight on your travel itinerary.  For example, if you travel from the United States and connect through Germany, your U.S. flight is considered your origination.  If your origination airport is on the EASA affected area list, you are subject to testing and quarantine per above.
